![]() The Communication Section of the Myanmar Council of Churches held Moving Image Production media workshop in Sittwe during 5th-8th December 12, 2008. There are 12 participants from Churches in Sittwe area like Church of the Province of Myanmar (Anglican), Baptist, Mara Evangelical Church and Church of Christ. The first day of the program focused on basic theories and concepts of media and communication along with computer based information Technology where as the practical camera works or functions and computer based editing have been imparted at the workshop. All participants could have a Video CD production “Toe mae ta kaung yeh a phyu yaung chaylan thet” (A new life of the Bar Bar Black Sheep) at the end of the workshop. Venue of the Media Workshop is known to be the first Anglican Church in Myanmar because it was built in 1844 AD after the British occupation of the Arakan by the first Anglo-Burmese war (1823-1826). Rev. Kite Aung,Pastor of the St. Mark Cathedral and Rev. Rakhine of the Mara Evangelical Church have been a vital part of the realization of the Media Workshop. Myauk U is the ancient kingdom of the Rakhine people and the it is known to be more ancient than the first Burma kingdom Bagan.
