General Secretary of MCC at the openingCommunication Section of the Myanmar Council of Churches held a Communication Consultation at the Myanmar Ecumenical Sharing Centre, 601 Pyay Road, Yangon, Myanmar on 11-12 August 2009. The Consultation was attended by 22 media related persons from Christian Organization and member Churches of the MCC. The first consultation on Communication was held on 24th February 1999 at the same venue as a preliminary consultation. The recommendations from the consultation had been brought to the EC meeting and Biennial General Meeting that a multifaceted programme of media awareness seminars and workshops with some technical know-hows have been carried out over a decade of years. The consultation was an evaluation of the outcomes and a planning for the future communication programmes depending on the needs of member Churches. Member Churches of MCC except CPM(Anglican) and Myanmar Baptist Convention do not have proper communication departments. Rev. Dr. Siama stressed that Communication programmes of the MCC should be sustained for the development of communication technology for the member Churches of those that do not have proper communication programs of their own.Rev.
